Proven insight, made practical
For more than forty years, SGA has helped leaders, teams, and coaches understand how they come across and how to adapt. Our approach is simple: give people an honest, usable picture of how they work with others, and the versatility skills to do it better.
The model
The four styles grew out of research begun in the 1950s by Dr. David W. Merrill at the University of Denver, developed with Roger H. Reid and Gordon Brunson. We use it with acknowledgment to the researchers who developed it.
The instrument
The survey, the scoring, and the report are SGA’s own, built on an instrument created in the 1960s by Dr. Walter F. Daves. SGA has refined and delivered it since the late 1980s.
Our approach
