How It Works

How it works

From profile to practiced skill

Everyone profiles first, then the team comes together to practice. A short assessment and honest feedback from people who know your work build your Profile, and the workshop turns it into a skill you use.

The journey

One profile, one workshop, lasting habits

The Profile is where it starts. The workshop is where it becomes a skill. Coaching is how it sticks.

1

Everyone profiles first

Each person rates themselves and invites a few colleagues, then receives a confidential read on their style and how others experience them. That is the raw material the workshop works with.

2

The workshop

Half a day to two days, in person or virtual. The team learns the model, reads their own profiles, practices spotting other styles, and works through real situations together.

3

Follow-through

Debriefs and coaching turn insight into habits, so versatility becomes second nature rather than a report people read once.

Inside the room

What the workshop covers

The purpose is simple: to help people build and sustain productive working relationships. We get there in six moves.

1

The premises

What Interpersonal Intelligence is, and is not: how your behavior reliably shapes what others think and feel about you.

2

Discover your own style

Read your profile and own how you come across on the Ask to Tell and Control to Emote dimensions.

3

Read other people

Learn the reliable signals in words, body language, and tone that show how someone prefers to be approached.

4

Enhance productivity

Give each style what it needs, and stop giving people what quietly pushes them away.

5

Emotional intelligence

Put people at ease, sense mood, and connect, especially when the stakes are high.

6

Increase versatility

Flex on purpose. Adjust your pace, structure, focus, and warmth to meet the other person where they are.

Hands-on

You practice, you do not just listen

The room is built for doing. A few of the exercises people remember most:

Live style reads

Interview a volunteer and call their style in real time, then check your read against the guide. You leave able to size someone up in the first few minutes.

The versatility drill

You are handed a client’s style and have to present to it, tailoring pace, tone, and focus, while the rest of the room guesses which style you were adapting to.

Back-up styles

See what you do under real pressure, when styles harden into fight or flight, and practice bringing yourself, and others, back.

The payoff

What people leave with

New insight into how you come across. New options for gaining other people’s endorsement. More comfortable, more effective, and more enjoyable working relationships. And a shared language the team keeps using long after the session.
